Beaches
Located at the gateway to Hotwater Beach, Cooks Beach, Hahei, Te Whanganui o Hei (Cathedral Cove) and Shakespears Cliff there are many beautiful beaches to enjoy. Sailors Grave (pictured above) is just a few minutes down the road as is Tairua Surf beach and Estuary. Pauanui is 30 minutes in one directtion and Whitianga 30 mins in the opposite.

Restaurants
Local to Whenuakite is the Family, a great place for a craft beer and pizza
Just 10 mins away in Coroglen is the Infamous Coroglen Tavern! Grab some pub grub and have a swim in the Waiwawa River, complete with rope swing and bank jumping.
Tairua has several boutique caravan takeaway options as well as fish & chips. Manaia Cafe is great day or night and a favourite culinary delight is the Tairua Beach Club.
On the way to Cooks Beach you will find The Hive (another favourite spot!). Once in Cooks Beach you will find The Vessel, Go Vino and Mercury Bay Estate, perfect for a platter and wine tasting.
In Hahei you'll find The Church, The Pour House, The Hahei Beach Cafe and great spots for icecream.
A trip to Hot Waves at Hot Water beach is another must!
Walks & Ferry Crossing
Explore one of the many walking tracks in the area including Hikaui, Pauanui, Tairua and surrounds.

On the way to Ferry Landing to catch the passenger ferry to Whitianga stop in at Shakespears Cliff for breathtaking views of Mercury Bay and a short 1km walk down to the beautif Lonely Bay.
